A Space Like No Other

Nestled deep in the heart of Chester County, PA, this project consisted of installing fully integrated Crestron lighting and Crestron audio/video distribution systems, accompanied by custom Hoishik iPad and Windows based software to control every aspect of this secluded 7000 sq ft home.

The owner, a successful software entrepreneur and business methodology founder, sought out Hoishik to make this not only a technically impressive home but a place with extraordinarily unique technical features. Hoishik was successful in completing this task and was nationally recognized with a Crestron award for ‘Most Unique Application of Crestron Technology’ for our efforts.

Unique Applications

These homeowners had a desire to truly impress their guests with the most unique basement guest rooms incorporated into their eastern Pennsylvania suburban home. When Hoishik saw what they were trying to do, we used technology to help take these areas of the home to entirely new level.

One of the guest areas featured a cave room, complete with quartz crystals throughout. Hoishik was able to custom design RGB LED lights behind the crystals to illuminate them in any color imaginable. Five hidden ports throughout the room accept a specific 8” quartz crystal which, upon inserting, initiates a different theme in the entire space. The lava theme lights all crystals in red and a subwoofer rumbles in earthquake like fashion. The moonlight theme lights all crystals in blue and the sound of bugs play; and, an alien theme illuminates all crystals green and alien sounds play from the hidden speakers.

Custom Hoishik software allows the homeowner to create and modify their own cave room scenes, making adjustments to the individual color settings for each crystal as well as modifying the sound effects and volume.

In addition to the cave room, the homeowners created a tomb room complete with an underground mine shaft car. Hoishik optimized this space with themed lighting consisting of an old pot belly stove with a custom flickering LED flame circuit.

Our clients also opted to bring the beautiful Chester County outdoors inside on their main level. The first floor features an indoor pond with a waterfall. To allow this features without risk of overflow and water damage to their beautiful home, Hoishik installed a Crestron water monitoring system, allowing the home owners to accurately gauge when their pond has reached potentially unsafe levels.
