The homeowners of this 12,000-square-foot Pennsylvania home requested a system that would maximize energy efficiencies and enable them to control everything from anywhere in the world.

Luxury Meets Energy Savings

Audio, video, lighting, motorized shades, HVAC, security system with cameras, fireplaces, gates, pools, and driveway systems—all integrated into a system that can be monitored and controlled remotely from anywhere in the world, anytime. The system also needed to be scalable and flexible enough to maintain communication between several rack locations and sources. Crestron was the proven solution for this large-scale project.

Crestron lighting and motorized shades, combined with Crestron thermostats and sensors, provided the energy efficiencies the homeowner was looking for. Scheduled events ensure that lighting, shades, and temperatures are all set to desired levels based on time of day, occupancy, or season.

On the AV side, the home features DigitalMedia™ HD video distribution to the 10 TVs and dedicated home theater. Sources include four cable boxes, two Apple® TVs, two Kaleidescape® players, and security cameras. The Crestron Sonnex® Multiroom Audio System delivers the family's favorite tunes to 24 zones throughout the house. Crestron enabled the homeowners to have the control they desired through dedicated control touch screens, handheld remotes, and their personal iPad® and iPhone® devices.

It's so intuitive that even the homeowner's 93-year old mother could operate the system flawlessly with virtually no training. The clients enjoy the system so much that they're already expanding the lighting, shading, audio and video systems, and adding integrated door locks.
